Piano Tips Newsletter: Special Edition

Hello, a bunch of people sent me an email about the last lesson that had the little girl Emily Bear playing in it…. here is one comment I received…

“Emily, you make me choke up and almost cry when I see you play the piano. Oh! To think of all of the talent that has gone unrecognized because they didn’t have the parents that you have and the instrument at hand. You absolutely thrill me! I have bright children too, and it’s a great challenge to raise them as normal kids. Just thrilled that you are staying so sweet and well balanced. I will be watching you and celebrating every day that you charm us.”

People seemed pretty impressed that such a young girl could play the piano so well, now while I admit that some of that talent is natural… a lot of it just has to do with the fact that her parents gave her the chance to play from very early on.

Kids can pick up on new things way faster then us adults can, their learning curve can be extremely short… especially if you make piano lessons fun.

But how do you make long boring piano lessons, exciting for youngsters?

EASY!

The best way that I have found would be to use a program like Piano Wizard, which is a video game that will teach your child how to play the piano. With Piano Wizard, they won’t even realize that they are learning because they will be having so much fun.

Another good way for your child to start learning piano is a software program called Piano Is Fun. The only downside with this tool is it is more just about learning to read music notes then actually playing the piano, but it really is a fun game for kids and is a great starting point.

Now, since so many enjoy watching Emily play, I have included some more videos of Emily Bear appearing on different TV shows below…
